National Political Reporter

We’re hiring a national political reporter to aggressively cover politics in the TPM tradition.

TPM’s most pressing coverage areas include the rise of the authoritarian GOP, the return of Trump, anti-democracy extremism, the attack on voting rights, the undermining of election administration, the new conservative-dominated Supreme Court, and the other major political and historical trends of the day.

Applicants should have 3-5 years of reporting experience, be hungry to break big stories and be ready to mix good old-fashioned reporting skills and digital native tools to identify stories, grab hold of them and not let go until there’s no more news left in them to report.

This is a NYC or DC based position.

Competitive salary and benefits, including health, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), three weeks paid vacation per year.

This is a position covered under the Writers Guild of America East Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Women and minority candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.

Please send resume and cover letter to [email protected] (include the subject line: “Job App: National Political Reporter”).
